1. Tell us about yourself?
2. When I was talking about project in Q.1. They asked more about project and 2/3 questions on project.
3. What were you doing after 2016? Tell us specifically?
4. Role of production engineer? I said from extraction to supply then asked what are the equipments in between ? Tell us more.
5. About ONGC?
6. Reciprocating vs centrifugal pumps ?
7. Cavitation and effects?
8. Powder metallurgy and it's uses? Where in pumps powder metallurgy is used?
9. What is Poison ratio ? Steel vs Rubber ?
10. Stefan Boltzman Law and three modes of HT.
Panel was friendly and very supportive.

30th May ONGC Interview (Production) 

As I entered the room,I wished all panel members and also the ma'am.

1- Asked about my native place and asked about the famous thing of the city.

2- Introduce yourself, told about my graduation and Industrial Training and B.Tech Project.

3- What was the purpose of your project and how it would be beneficial to  the society.

4- What is Oil Doping?

5- Which is the better tubes arrangement for heat exchanger ? Triangular or Rectangular? and Why?

6- What are the cooling methods used in the cooling of an IC engine cylinder?

7- What is MPFI?

8- What is the effect on the exhaust in MPFI? Asked also about the exhaust gases

9- Asked about the Industrial Training ,gave a brief information about the processes used in the turbine manufacturing.

10- Mam asked the last question : Why do you want to join ONGC.

Interview was around the 20 minutes, the panelists were very helpful .It was a nice experience.

Date -28.05.18

There was a brief presentation about the company followed by document verification and then interview.
We needed to carry xerox of original documents also (not mentioned in call letter).
Interview panel consisted of 6 members (1 lady).
After the greeting they asked me to sit down.
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. About summer training.
3. About final year project.
4. About ONGC.
5. What do we do?
6. Production previous year?
7. India's dependence on others for crude oil, OPEC.
8. My gate rank and marks
9. As my project was related to vibration,they asked about rotating unbalanced mass measurement and control.
10. Types of welding, TIG ,Difference between Soldering and Brazing.
11. As I am from Bihar, they asked me 1 good and 1 bad point about Bihar and about its perception.
12. Petroleum Minister ?
13. Current Finance Minister ?

All members were quite senior and very supporting, not much cross questioning.

I forgot Petroleum Minister's name and told Mahesh Pradhan and after 2 attempts I reached at Dharmendra Pradhan and they laughed !!

Overall interview was easy and they were not much into technical.

5. What is LPG? It's constituents? What is its calorific value?

10. Kitna duration tha?
11. Steam Turbine ke type batao?
12. Kitna stage hota hai? (HP, IP, LP) ? Efficiency kitna tha?

15. Kaunsa process hota hai cooling tower me?

Interview was purely technical and no general awareness and HR questions were asked!!

4. Btech me kya position thi- I said 6th.
5. Gate rank kitna hai.
6. Gate rank itna kam kyu.
7. Then they asked which type of questions would I first prefer to answer- HR or Technical ??
8. They asked for my strength and weakness- no counter question to my answer
9. Then asked why ONGC??
10. Other member from the panel asked a question of mathematics because  I had mention about my gold medal in Maths Olympiad.
11. Then they asked for my fav subjct- I said SOM
12- Basic questions from SOM like Young's Modulus, stress strain curve was asked.
13- What are different types of friction, what is friction welding.
14- Types of heat exchanger because my project was based on heat exchanger, different types of turbines.
15- Different types of pumps, which type of pump should be used for drilling purpose in sea.
16- What do you know about ONGC ?
Panel was very friendly,
They were asking questions in hindi only.
Panel consisted of 7 members - 6 male, 1 female.
Female member asked only one HR related question.

3. Why farmers are protesting in MP? They explained one reason and asked to explain other reasons.
4. Can u name different type of valves used in oil industries.?
5.what type of job you will be assigned in ONGC?
6. Different type of maintanance.?
7. What parameters need to be controlled in maintanance?
8. Types of vibrations?
9. Name some vibration and noise monitoring systems?
10. Two recent national level news?
11. One advancement in automobile is the gearless car, what is next advancement?

ONGC AEE CEMENTING 05-06-2017

There were 5 persons 4 gents and 1 lady in the panel
General questions -
First, mam started asking questions.
When did you completed your B Tech ?
Tell me about your family background.
Why ONGC?
Do you have idea of what kind of work you will be given ?
Few more similar questions then she moved on to other Sir and told him to ask technical questions.

Technical :
Zeroth law of thermodynamics.
Difference between tube and pipe.
Springs, Forging.
Which important factor to be considered while forging a material ?
About CNC i.e. about CNC Machine. Company which manufactured that machine *( as I did short course on CNC milling).
What type of spring is used in railway coaches ?
He asked - Suppose the door of refrigerator is kept open in the room then what will happen and why ?

Now came the HR question from the second interviewer.
He seemed to be some senior member of the company.
He wanted me to put my views about the huge population of India, what are the advantages and disadvantages.
He then asked me to focus on two areas that you think will resolve those disadvantages.
What govt. is doing in these areas ?

Interview lasted for 10 to 15 minutes and questions were similar to everyone.
They also asked about radioactivity and few areas of I.C. Engines to some of my friends.
